W. Scott Swenson serves as President of Jones Swenson Auction Marketing, Inc. and has been a professional auctioneer since 1983. Mr. Swenson is active in the auctioneering industry at both a state and national level. A nationally acclaimed auctioneer, Mr. Swenson was recently elected to the Board of Directors of the 7,000 member National Auctioneers Association. He is also a past officer and director of the Texas Auctioneers Association. In addition, Mr. Swenson is a four time top finalist in the International Auctioneer Championship and won the Texas State Champion Auctioneer in 1992. Since 1992 he has also served as an instructor at the Texas Auction Academy and is the instructor of Real Estate Auction courses for Continuing Education for the Texas Auctioneers Association.
Mr. Swenson holds Auctioneer Licenses in 10 states, Real Estate Broker licenses in Texas and Mississippi, and is an approved auctioneer for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Swenson is a graduate of Texas A&M University and Britton Auction Academy, and the University of Indiana's Auction Marketing Institute. Since 1983, Mr. Swenson has personally conducted over 1,000 auctions across the U.S. and Mexico.
CAI Designation – The Certified Auctioneers Institute is the most prestigious designation awarded in the auction industry. Less than 5% of auctioneers in the US hold this certification. Designed for leaders in the industry and auction firm decision-makers, the CAI is an executive development program focused on enhancing skills and providing the tools to be a leader in the auction industry.
GPPA Designation- The professional designation awarded by the NAA Educational Institute to qualified property appraisers who meet the educational and experiential requirements. A member holding a GPPA designation must comply with standards and requirements of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice.
